My Wai that I relate to is a stream by my house. It is only a couples blocks from my house and itʻs always flowing. I use to go there as a kid and swim in there. Over the years the stream has gone down to where the rocks that use to be cover by water. Going on this learning trip helped me become more appreciative of what I have. Like Kumu was saying, we would be nothing without all of the resources that we have. I thought that it was a good experience and that I would definitely go on this field trip again. I found it interesting when we were in the cave and the water was falling from the ceiling. The water that came down from the ceiling was cold and hasnʻt seen light from 9 months to 10-15 years.
The other part of the field trip where we went to Hāmama falls was a really cool experience. Although I didnʻt expect the hike to be that long, I enjoyed it and had a good time. It was cool to see the waterfall and how everything works. Also, we learned that there was a well there and so thatʻs why there weʻre other pipes over there to collect water from the well. To see how everything connects and how we not only as Hawaiians but as people get our water and the process they go through. |
